Who this is between
These terms govern your use of In Case, an Ardenholt program operated by Ruzylo Cloud, LLC ("we", "us"). Using In Case means you agree to them.
The service
In Case is software provided as-is: a guided, on-device place to record where your family's important things are. We work to keep it running and useful, but we offer no uptime guarantee and no warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, except where the law requires one.
Not legal, financial, or medical advice
In Case provides organisation, prompts, checklists and templates — not legal advice — and using it creates no attorney-client relationship. What you assemble in it, including a letter of instruction or a printed emergency sheet, is an informal aid and not a substitute for a will, a trust, a power of attorney, or an advance directive.
Laws on estates and digital assets vary by state and change. Review anything consequential with a licensed attorney where you live.
What you pay, and what that buys
In Case is free to download. The complete program runs for seven days without a card, a free core stays useful after that for as long as you keep the app, and the full program is one payment of $59.
There is no subscription and no tier. Nothing renews, nothing lapses, and nothing has to be cancelled later. The purchase covers the releases that follow it. This is deliberate rather than generous: a subscription that lapses would defeat the purpose of a file meant to outlast you.

The thirty-day guarantee
Thirty days, money back, on every platform, with no exceptions and no reasons asked. This is a term of the program, not a courtesy we may withdraw.
Bought from us: write to [email protected] and the payment comes back. Bought through Apple: Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com under its own policy — and if Apple declines inside our thirty days, write to us and we make it right ourselves.
Your vault is unaffected either way, because it was never anywhere but your device.
Buying on iOS, buying on the web
An in-app purchase on iOS is a one-time unlock, not a subscription: no auto-renewal, no renewal charge, and nothing to switch off afterwards. Apple takes the payment and issues the receipt under its own terms.
A purchase made on the web unlocks the same app by a licence key from your receipt. Either route flips the same switch, and buying on one platform never obliges you to buy again on the other.
Your account, if you ever make one
You do not need an account to use In Case, and the app itself never asks for one — the seven-day trial and the free core ask for nothing at all. Account — optional, always.
Where a record exists at our end it exists to prove what you own: an email address you gave us on the register, or a licence key against a web purchase. It never holds your vault, your documents, your contacts, or anything you wrote. Your vault never leaves your device; any record we keep holds licences, never your life.
We operate no server holding your vault, which means we cannot read it, cannot restore it, and cannot hand it to anyone who asks — including anyone who acquires this company, and including a court.
Your vault, your responsibility
That same design puts real duties on you. Your vault lives on your device behind your passcode and biometrics, so you are responsible for the security of that device, for the exports and printed copies you choose to make, and for deciding who may hold them.
We cannot recover a vault from a lost, wiped, or inaccessible device. Keep the printed emergency sheet and an encrypted export somewhere you would trust with the originals.
Acceptable use
- Do not use In Case to harm anyone, or to hold records you have no right to hold.
- Do not break, probe, or reverse-engineer the service, except where the law permits it.
- Do not use it for spam, harassment, or anything illegal.
Ending it
You can stop using In Case whenever you like: delete the app and nothing of yours is left behind on our side, because nothing of yours was there. We may suspend website services such as the register if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken, with notice where that is feasible.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law permits, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of In Case is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $59, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located there.
Changes
If we make a material change we will update this sheet and the effective date at its head, and write once to anyone on the register. Continuing to use In Case after a change means you accept it. We will not weaken the on-device promise — it is the product.
